  • Here are answers to the most common questions about trading at Winter Wonderland.

    They cover questions

About the opportunity for good sales

How many visitors come to the show?
    What do shoppers buy?
How many other traders will be selling what I am selling?

Over the past 5 years, Winter Wonderland has averaged between 2000 and 3000 visitors over the 2 days of the show - and that means lots of customers for your goods.

When you enquire about a table, ask Liz about the number of tables in your trading category and remember, traders selling similar goods are distributed around the floor to enable them to promote their goods effectively.

    About booking a table

Can I book for just one day?
Do I request a specific position on the floor, such as a wall table?

Table bookings are for both days. Our show is open to visitors from 9.30 to 4.00 Saturday and 9.30 to 3.30 Sunday.

We allocate table positions based on your preference request and the options remaining at the time you book.

Many traders return to the same table position each year. Applying early will give you the most choice.

    About your table

    How big are the tables?
Is power available at the table?
What fittings or displays should I consider bringing?

The tables are 6ft by 2ft. Displays and fittings must fit on the table - they cannot protrude over the table's edges.

Please discuss high displays or stands with Liz.

Power is available for the tables using extensions leads from the wall.

Traders need to bring their own extension leads plus also electricians tape to tape down the lead.

All electrical equipment at the table must be tagged and tested after 16 Jan 2008.

About setting up and packing away

How do I set up? Pack away?
Is there anyone to help? Any trolleys?

Traders can set up from midday Friday and from 6am Saturday.

    Unload & setup

There is no need to nominate a set-up time.

You must nominate an unload time if you are unloading your goods from your car in parking areas reserved for Winter Wonderland.

    • Park in one of the six nominated spaces on the top level of the King George Square public car park - this level has direct access to the lift into City Hall.
    • Park in the City Hall loading bay - this level has direct access to the City Hall.

As a trader, you nominate which option is best for you and we allocate an unloading time.

Generally, if traders park in the City Hall loading bay, they are allocated thirty minutes to unload but then need to move their vehicles to make room for other traders.

In previous years, the first 30 minutes of parking was free in the public carpark, however arrangements for 2008 are still being negotiated.

    Re-loading

Times for re-loading are allocated at the show.

    Trolleys and assistance

If you require assistance with un-packing tell Liz and one of the family will assist when possible. We employ extra staff to assist with pack up.

We have some trolleys available but always recommend that you bring you own if you have one.
